(The Bible teaches that it is possible to attain a standard of perfection in our daily walk in the Spirit of the Lord. This is neither believed nor taught, especially in the Pentecostal churches, and as a result, it is heart-breakingly apparent that most Christians are endeavoring to live with one hand in God’s Hand while the other hand and both feet are clinging to earthly things and values. They are ever striving to get these by human effort, instead of believing and living the Word.)
Matt 6:33
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Col 3:2
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
(Now let us see what the Bible actually teaches regarding this life of perfection.)
Gen 6:9
9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Gen 6:11-13
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Gen 17:1
1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
I Ki 15:14
14 But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa’s heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

II Ki 20:3
3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
(If only all Christians would be of one and a perfect heart to make Christ King in their hearts and lives, an earthly Utopia would be possible.)
I Chr 29:9

(Another mighty testimony!)

(This is taking place today, as we walk in obedience.)

21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
Isa 18:5
5 For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.
(This demonstrates the picture of the Lord perfecting a born-again child by pruning until he is presented a perfect man in Christ.)
Matt 5:44-48
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

I Cor 2:6-7
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

(Only those whose heart is perfect toward the Lord can receive or understand the wisdom of God.)

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
(This explains the very reason why the scriptures were given by the Holy Spirit to man.)
Heb 2:10
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
(Christ’s obedience in going to the cross was the final proof of His willingness to do all the will of God.)
Heb 5:9
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
James 1:4
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
