The Sermon on the Mount – Part 37

Not everyone gets forgiven. This is God’s call. A soul that comes to the Lord and truly repents of their sin will have their sins remitted. Satan, on the other hand, does not get forgiveness.

  • John 20:21-23: “Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.”
  • Acts 1:8: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
  • Matthew 18:18: “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
  • Matthew 12:28: “But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.”
  • Matthew 5:7: “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”
  • Psalm 103:8-13: “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.”
